The Chair shall:

1. Work with the Zone XI Horticulture Rep.
2. Plan one horticulture program each year along with the LMGC Program Chair.
3. Plan a horticulture education program each year for the LMGC interns (new provisional members) along with the LMGC Vice President.
4. Present pertinent information at the LMGC intern orientation program meeting.
5. Encourage and assist LMGC members to become horticultural judges in coordination with LMGC Flower Show Chair.
6. Attend the GCA Shirley Meneice Horticulture Conference, one year with the LMGC President and one year with the Assistant Horticulture Chair. Report on the Shirley Meneice Conference at the LMGC Program Meeting that follows the conference.
7. Nominate a plant for GCA Freeman Metal Plant of the Year.
8. Assist the Horticulture Chair Assistant with the LMGC “Partners for Plants Garlic Mustard Pull”. This is a joint project with the LMGC Conservation Chair and Assistant Chair. Work with the Conservation Chairperson to develop other GCA “Partner for Plants” projects as recommended by GCA.
9. Assist the Assistant Horticulture Chair with the research and submission of “Hort Hints” publicized in the eight LMGC Program announcements.

The Assistant Chair shall:

1. Research and submit the “Hort Hints” article for publication in eight LMGC Program announcements.
2. Work collaboratively with the Assistant Conservation Assistant on the LMGC “Partners for Plants Garlic Mustard Pull”.
3. Assist the Horticulture program as needed otherwise.

The Assistant Chairperson shall:

1. Assist the Assistant Conservation Chair with the LMGC “Partners for Plants Garlic Mustard Pull”.
2. Research and submit the “Hort Hints” article for publication in eight LMGC Program announcements.
3. Assist the Horticulture program as needed otherwise.
